Day 1

Meet your West Adventures consultant and any fellow adventurers at the joining hotel in downtown Vancouver. Be sure to have your insurance documents and passports available for presentation to your tour leader. Dinner on your own.
Overnight: Downtown Vancouver hotel.

Day 2

Breakfast on your own, then meet your vehicle and your cooler, which will be equipped with three breakfasts, three lunches and three dinners and, if you’re on your own, recipes, for making the most of your camping experience. Drive for 1½ to 2 hrs to Chilliwack, taking in the beautiful scenery of the Fraser Valley. Here you will have a variety of hiking options: we recommend either Elk Mountain or Lindeman Lake. The two are entirely different. The Elk Mountain hike is a steeper climb that takes you up to grand views of the Fraser Valley and North Cascade Mountain peaks, including the snow-capped Mount Baker, which is still an active volcano. If you’re concerned about getting your hiking legs going more gently, then Lindeman Lake, further up the Chilliwack Lake Road, is your best option. This is a hike to a gorgeous little lake in a fantastic mountain setting. If you get there and feel ready to tackle a little more, you can carry on to Greendrop Lake before retracing your steps to your vehicle. Completing your hikes, return to the main highway, then drive through Hope to Manning Park, which will be your home for the next two days and three nights. Your campsite will be reserved at one of several campsites in the park.
Overnight: Camping in Manning Park

Day 3

A full day to explore one (or more) of the many hikes in the park. We suggest on either day 3 or day 4, you will want to do the Three Brothers’ hike where, especially later in the season, you will be treated to a palette of alpine flowers, in addition to the great views.
Overnight: Camping in Manning Park

Day 4

A second full day to test your legs on one of the more challenging trails like Windy Joe or Frosty Mountain. Or, if you’re feeling the legs and want to take it easier, walk the Lightening Lakes circuit, the chain lakes trail or the Three Falls trail, rent a canoe or paddle boat for some water activities, or take a trail ride. Manning Park is full of options for all levels of skill and fitness.
Overnight: Camping in Manning Park

Day 5

Pack up your camping gear and retrace your journey to Vancouver. If you didn’t stop on the way up to view and read about the massive Hope Slide, where a mountain came crashing down through the Nicolum Valley, you’ll want to do so now. More than fifty years later, the rubble still tells an amazing geologic story. You should arrive in Vancouver by about noon. If you’re flyiong out today, please do not book flights before 5 pm.
